Apple is preparing to launch its latest line of iPhones on September 12th at the Wonderlust event. Like previous iPhone launches, this year’s event is not immune to the rumor mill. While many features of the iPhone 15 series have been extensively leaked, the official pricing remains undisclosed. Here, we will outline the price expectations for the upcoming iPhone 15 series.
Following the tradition of previous iPhone releases, we can anticipate two standard iPhone models and two Pro models, which will come at a premium compared to their non-Pro counterparts. Apple is set to introduce four new models: the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus Expected Price:
Let’s begin with the positive news. Apple may retain the pricing structure from last year’s non-Pro models. The base price for these phones started at $999 in the US, while for Indian buyers, it was set at Rs 79,900. The new iPhone 15 Plus is expected to be priced at Rs 89,900.
What’s new with iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus?
The standard iPhone 15 models are expected to receive significant upgrades. The iPhone 15 is rumored to bid farewell to the notch that has been a fixture since the iPhone X series. It will be replaced by the Dynamic Island, introduced for the first time in last year’s model, which will increase the screen real estate. Moreover, the bezel size is expected to get slimmer. There are also distant rumors of Apple upgrading the primary camera from 12 MP to 48 MP. The iPhone 15 will be powered by the A16 Bionic chipset, which was featured in last year’s Pro models. Both non-Pro and Pro models are also expected to incorporate the USB Type-C port, replacing the Lightning cable.
iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max Expected Price:
The Pro models are poised for substantial upgrades, which will correspond to higher price tags. The iPhone 15 Pro is expected to see a $100 price increase. Last year, the iPhone 14 Pro launched at $999 in the US, and this year, the price might rise to $1099. In India, the iPhone 14 Pro was available at Rs 1,29,900, and Indian buyers can anticipate at least a Rs 10,000 price hike.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max is likely to witness an even more substantial price increase, with expectations of a $200 bump. This could potentially take the launch price to $1299. Indian buyers can also expect a significant price hike from last year’s model, which started at Rs 1,39,900.
What’s new with iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max?
The iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max will feature a new titanium frame, replacing the previous stainless steel one. The use of titanium is expected to make the phones sturdier yet lighter. In the camera department, the iPhone 15 Pro Max is set to receive a periscope lens that will provide 5x-6x optical zoom.
