There are numerous programs aimed at empowering women in various states across the country. Through these schemes, efforts are being made to improve the status of women. Similarly, many efforts are being made in Uttar Pradesh, through various schemes, to empower and advance women at various levels. The UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana is one of these programs. This scheme is yet another outstanding effort by the Uttar Pradesh government to empower women and will be launched in order to encourage women to work so that they can become self-sufficient while also raising their standard of living.

What is the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana 2023?

The Government of Uttar Pradesh launched the UP Mahila Samanya Yojana to empower women. So that the women of Uttar Pradesh can also be empowered and developed. The state government will encourage women to start cottage industries based on the available / local resources around them through this scheme. Aside from that, the government will provide a market for women to sell the goods produced by their cottage industries. Where women can easily earn some money by selling their salmon. The government has announced a budget of 200 crores for the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana.It was issued for the fiscal year 2021-22. Let us tell you that its release date has been set for February 2021. A two-tier committee will implement Uttar Pradesh’s Women Empowerment Scheme. One committee will be formed at the state level and the other at the district level.

How will the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana be implemented?

Women’s common facility centers will be established in 200 development blocks under this scheme. These will occur during the initial phase. In these centers, women will receive a variety of training.  General production and its technology, development, packaging, leveling, and barcoding, among other things, will be facilitated. Aside from that, general awareness, seminars, exposures, counseling programs, workshops, and training programs will be organized to encourage them to move forward. The state government will bear 90 percent of the cost of these facilities.

This scheme will create a two-tier committee, as mentioned earlier in the article. One of these committees will be formed at the state level, while the other will be formed at the district level.  The district committee will be chaired by the district’s District Magistrate. The State Level Steering Committee will collaborate to encourage and guide the state’s women to move forward.

The goal of the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana is to raise women’s living standards so that all women can live a better life. Women in Uttar Pradesh will be encouraged to work in order to generate an income and become financially self-sufficient through this scheme. This scheme will empower women and will make a significant contribution to women’s empowerment. It is necessary to encourage them to start small businesses while also providing a market for all of their products. Keeping all of this in mind, the state government has made resources available to them through this scheme. Arrangements have also been made to establish cottage industries and make markets available. Apart from this, they will also be given training related to industries. Through this scheme, not only will the self-reliance of women increase, but the number of industries in the state will also increase. Due to which the income of the state will also increase.

• This scheme has also been launched in Uttar Pradesh, as part of the countrywide women’s empowerment campaign.

• The government will assist in promoting cottage industries run by women through the UP Mahila Samarthya Yojana for their upliftment and betterment.

Eligibility Criteria:

• This program is only for women. As a result, only women will be able to take part in it.
• This scheme is only available to residents of Uttar Pradesh. Because of this, the woman applying must be a permanent resident of Uttar Pradesh.
