Prime Minister Narendra Modi had presented the Union Cabinet with the Mitra scheme in order to support the textile industry, and the Union Cabinet approved it. Now 7 Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Park will be celebrated under this scheme. In this park, not only the goods will be produced but all the work related to its packing and advertisement will be done. Under this scheme, the government has prepared a budget of Rs 4,445 crore. What is PM MITRA Yojana

PM Mitra Yojana is one such latest scheme released by Narendra Modi, under which large textile parks will be built in the country, garments will be produced in this park. Along with this, all works related to the textile industry will be done in the park. This park will be built by both Central and State together. PM Mitra Yojana will work in public partnership mode.

10 states have shown their interest in setting up this textile park. Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana will now work as part of this scheme after the Union Cabinet has accepted this proposal to set up a textile park.

Objectives of PM MITRA Yojana

The objective of the PM Mitra scheme is to promote the textile industry in a big way. Under this scheme, not only clothes will be produced but its supply will also be increased. Employment opportunities will also be created under this scheme. The government believes that after the full implementation of this scheme, employment opportunities will be provided directly to more than seven lakh people. And more than 14 lakh people will get indirect employment.

5F in PM MITRA Yojana Scheme

Farm to Fibre to Factory to Fashion to Foreign – the PM MITRA scheme is a major step forward to achieve Aatmanirbhar Bharat and ‘Vocal for Local’. The mega parks will help the sector achieve its target of a turnover of $250 billion and exports of $100 billion by 2030.

Budget of PM MITRA Yojana Scheme

Under the PM Mitra scheme, the Center will spend Rs 500 crore on the construction of Green Field Park and Rs 200 crore on the construction of Brownfield Park. Apart from this, a factory will also be set up soon to manufacture clothes and Rs 300 crore will be spent to set up the factory.

Textile Park Facility

In the textile park, you will also be provided with incubation center and plug and play facility, developed factory site, roads, electricity, water and waste water system, common processing house and other facilities like design center, testing center. Not only this, workers hostel and housing, logistics park, warehousing, medical facilities will also be provided in this textile park. Manufacturing work will be done in 50% of this textile park, utility in 20% and development work in 10%.

In the park which will be constructed under this scheme, clothes will be cut, made, dyed, all at one place. The world’s best and costliest equipment will be used under this scheme to produce clothes. When this plan is fully implemented, a full range of clothing production will be created.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and Union Textiles Minister Piyush Goyal jointly launched India’s first PM MITRA mega textiles Park (Pradhan Mantri Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel Park) in Virudhunagar district of Tamil Nadu on 22 March 2023. An MoU was signed to this effect.

Seven sites were chosen out of 18 proposals for PM MITRA parks which were received from 13 States. The Parks will come up in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Benefits of PM MITRA Yojana

Under PM Mitra Yojana, the government is not only increasing the production of clothes but also trying to strengthen the economic system of our country. Under this scheme implemented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, people will get such benefits –

  • Under this plan, large textile parks will be established, due to which the textile industry in India will increase significantly, which will improve the country’s economic system.
  •  The common citizen will get the biggest benefit of this scheme because people will be needed to work in the companies which will be established under it. Due to which lakhs of people will get employment. Under this scheme, the government is thinking of giving jobs to more than 21 lakh people.
  • After this plan is implemented and clothes will be produced on a large scale in India, then country will also be able to compete with other countries in the field of clothing production.
  • With the production of cloth on such a large scale in the country, every village and city of the country will get benefit from it and the lifestyle of the people will also improve.
