IIT Kharagpur has taken a momentous step in the realm of technical education by introducing a groundbreaking certification course titled ‘Hands-on AI for Real-World Applications (HAAI).’ This remarkable initiative, driven by the National AI Hub – AI for Interdisciplinary Cyber Physical Systems (AI4ICPS), seeks to educate an impressive one lakh individuals about the intricacies of Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies.
In partnership with IIT Kharagpur, TCS iON, a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), has come forward to collaborate on this endeavor.
AI4ICPS: Shaping the Future of AI Education Under the patronage of DST, Government of India, AI4ICPS has launched this course in harmony with the directives of the National Educational Policy 2020 (NEP 2020). The visionary Director of IIT Kharagpur, Professor VK Tewari, has spearheaded the creation of this AI course, meticulously designed to cater to the burgeoning demands of the AI industry while also implementing the guiding principles of NEP 2020.
These directives encompass democratizing education, fostering interdisciplinary hands-on learning, cultivating enhanced employability skills, and harnessing the potential of digital technology to create more effective virtual classrooms.
TCS iON: Collaborative Outreach Partner In a significant partnership, TCS iON has been chosen as the platform and outreach partner for this certification program. By leveraging the capabilities of TCS iON, the program will provide Learning Management System (LMS) platform services and enable extensive outreach to educational institutions and targeted audiences across India.
Course Features and Highlights Spanning a three-month period with weekend sessions, the course will be led by esteemed faculty members from IIT Kharagpur’s departments of computer science, electronics, electrical, and mathematics, in conjunction with accomplished TCS scientists.
The program pledges to deliver 100 hours of experiential learning, industry exposure, modular quizzes, interactive discussion rooms, live doubt-clearing sessions, certificates of merit for the top 1% performers, and opportunities for direct interaction with industry professionals.

The program is scheduled to commence on September 2, 2023, and will conclude on December 2, 2023.
