OpenAI has introduced a Canva plugin for its widely-used chatbot, ChatGPT. This plugin is readily available for download from the ‘ChatGPT plugin store’ and enables users to effortlessly create a wide range of visuals, including logos and banners. In the past, using Canva alongside ChatGPT could be a somewhat cumbersome process, involving a lengthy series of steps. However, with the introduction of the Canva plugin, users can now generate stunning visuals with just a few simple clicks. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to set up and use the Canva ChatGPT plugin:
- Integrate Canva with ChatGPT: Begin by opening the AI-powered ChatGPT in your web browser. In the plugin section, scroll down until you locate the ‘Plugin Store.’
- Install the Canva Plugin: Search for the Canva plugin within the Plugin Store and install it. Once the installation is complete, return to ChatGPT’s main window and select ‘Canva’ from the plugin section.
- Describe Your Desired Visual: In the chatbot’s prompt box, describe what you want to generate, and then wait for a few seconds. For example, you can instruct ChatGPT to create a banner with a prompt like, ‘I am a smartphone enthusiast active on Facebook. Create a banner for the same.’
- Select a Visual: Review the list of visuals generated by ChatGPT and choose the one that best suits your needs. Click on the link associated with your chosen visual.
- Edit and Download in Canva: You will be redirected to Canva, where you can edit and download the AI-generated visual. Simply click on the ‘Share’ button and then select the ‘Download’ option.
It’s worth noting that, at present, plugins are exclusively available to ChatGPT Plus subscribers, which comes at a cost of $20 (approximately Rs 1,650) per month. This premium subscription grants users access to the updated GPT-4 large language model, which OpenAI states is capable of aiding in the creation of long-form content and accepting images as input.
