IIT Madras has recently issued a call for prospective candidates interested in exploring the ever-evolving domains of artificial intelligence and data science.
The institution is welcoming graduate and postgraduate candidates to participate in a two-year fellowship program at the Robert Bosch Centre for Data Science and AI (RBCDSAI).
One notable feature of this fellowship is the provision of a generous monthly stipend of Rs. 40,000 throughout the program’s duration.
FOCUS ON AI SKILLS AND ETHICAL EXPERTISE
The primary focus of this fellowship program is to cultivate responsible AI practitioners who have a strong foundation in ethical principles. It provides successful candidates with an environment to refine their research skills, collaborate with peers, and innovate solutions.
IIT Madras is reaffirming its commitment to promoting responsible AI practices and aims to prepare candidates for successful careers beyond the fellowship.
PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY AND APPLICATION PROCESS
Eligibility criteria include candidates holding either a four-year bachelor’s degree or a master’s degree in fields relevant to RBCDSAI. Applicants should also be under the age of 27 as of March 31, 2023, and demonstrate a strong academic record.
Other essential prerequisites include a commitment to full-time engagement, prompt acceptance of the offer, and the ability to commence the fellowship within six weeks of receiving the offer letter.
Applications must be submitted through a designated Google form, providing necessary details and selecting three RBCDSAI faculty members for potential mentorship.

WHAT DOES THE FELLOWSHIP INCLUDE?
This fellowship goes beyond conventional academic exposure and offers opportunities for collaboration with esteemed organizations such as Google, NASA, CMU, MIT, Walmart, JHU, The Ohio State University, Harvard, KMC, and 108 Emergency Response Services.
Fellows gain access to high-performance computing infrastructure, mentorship from distinguished faculty at IIT Madras, and the chance to earn course credits. Additionally, participants have the opportunity to publish their work in reputable journals and present at leading conferences.
