Google Unveils '.ing' Domain, Enabling One-Word Website Creation

Google Registry has launched a new domain extension called “.ing,” allowing companies and brands to create their websites using a single word. During Google’s early access period, users can register .ing domains, but they will incur an additional one-time fee.

In a recent blog post, Google stated that this top-level domain offers versatility, catering to various interests, whether it involves developing an entertaining website, supporting a charitable cause, designing visually appealing content, or editing existing documents.

To register unique .ing domains, users can partner with companies such as GoDaddy and 101Domain. The early access phase will continue until December 5, with fees gradually decreasing on a daily basis. On December 5, at 16:00 UTC, .ing domains will become publicly available at a standard annual price through the registrar of your choice.

Furthermore, Google is actively working on a .meme top-level domain, as previously mentioned in a Google Registry post from August. Currently, the .meme domain is in a limited registration period. Early access to .meme will commence on November 28, and registration for this domain will officially begin on December 5.

In other news, Google’s AI chatbot, Bard, has received an upgrade to provide faster real-time responses. This means that responses will appear as they are being generated, enhancing the conversational experience. Additionally, if the chatbot anticipates that a response may not be helpful, a “Skip response” button will appear, as reported by 9to5Google.
